Tammy Dobbie has been a Park Ecologist at Point Pelee National Park since 2005 and has been with Parks Canada for over 30 years. Her education is in ecology and botany, and these days she works primarily on species at risk conservation issues, both within the park and regionally. This includes restoring habitats and reducing threats for 69 species at risk such as Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus, Red Mulberry and Five-lined Skink within the park, while also working with Indigenous Partners, stakeholders and experts to tackle regional issues such as habitat connectivity, coastal erosion and climate change.
